4 Easy Ways to Get Rid of Ants in Your Home

Ants can be an annoying nuisance in and around your home, and by following a few simple steps, you can get rid of them for good. First off, focus on the inside of your home. You need to make sure you are not providing the ants with a reliable food and water source. Remember that ants are just looking for food and water to bring back to their nests. Sugary foods and water left on your counters and in your cabinets are the perfect food source that worker ants are seeking. Clean your kitchens and counters to prevent this from happening.

Next, where you are seeing ant activity, you want to use liquid ant bait traps. Liquid ant bait traps will provide a "food and water source" that ants are looking for. The "food and water source" that the ants find in the liquid bait stations will be toxic, and this poison will be brought back to the colony / ant nest to wipe out more ants.

There are several types of liquid ant bait stations available. Some models can be used on counters and flat surfaces, and others come with double sided mounting tape that can be placed in hard to reach areas where you are seeing ant activity.

Remember that the ants you see on the inside of your home are actually coming from a nest on the exterior of the home. This means that you have to pay attention to your home's exterior to fully rid your home of ants. Take a look around the exterior of your home and seal all cracks, crevices and any type of opening that may be a good route for ants to gain entrance to your home. This may include cracks in your foundation or siding or perhaps gaps in windows or doors. Once you have taken care of closing openings into the home, create a barrier around your home using poisonous ant granules. These granules, along with more liquid ant bait stations will greatly reduce any ant activity around the exterior of your home. If you can cut down on the ant activity on the exterior of the home, you will have better luck eliminating the ant activity on the inside of the home.
